As we approached the final week of the SY18-19 spring semester, staff from the Mayor’s Safer Stronger DC Office on Neighborhood Safety & Engagement alongside community volunteers were out at metro stations aiding in the safe transportation home of youth coming from school. Staff and volunteers also passed out information about the DC Infrastructure Academy for students who have family members or are seeking full time employment as qualified. The targeted areas were Anacostia, Congress Heights and Minnesota Ave Metro Stations from 2:45 pm - 4 pm each day.
